These scholarships are in addition to the automatic scholarships that colleges will provide to students. All of these require applications and many require more items. Please read all qualifications via the websites carefully.

North Central Missouri College
  • The PRIORITY DEADLINE for the NCMC Foundation Scholarship Application is April 1st at 4:30pm.
  • Any applications submitted after 4:30pm on April 1st and prior to the first day of the fall semester may be considered for round 2 scholarship selections. *Additional scholarships rounds are not guaranteed and subject to availability.
  • After the deadline date closes, completed applications, along with necessary academic and demographic information, will be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee for review. NCMC Foundation scholarship recipients are notified via their Pirate email account with the exception of high school recipients who will be notified by high school counselors/officials.
  • Award notification will include the scholarship name, amount of the award for the fall semester, and if the award is renewable for the spring semester.

Competitive Scholarships
Competitive award details listed below apply to first-time college freshmen entering Fall 2024. These awards are available to students enrolling at Mizzou the first semester after high school graduation. They are renewable provided certain criteria are met. Renewal criteria are available on the Student Financial Aid website. Unless otherwise noted, none of these scholarships may be combined with any other awards.

Missouri JCI Senate Scholarship
  • Seniors graduating from high schools in Missouri
  • Planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, or vocational school in any state
  • Applicants must submit information on leadership positions and offices in school, church, volunteer, and community activities; memberships and participation in school, church, volunteer, and community activities; honors and awards received during high school; employment experience; and family financial situation.
  • They must also submit an essay of 300 to 500 words on their chosen field of college study, their reasons for that choice, and how this scholarship will impact their future.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship
EligibilityCompetition open to all high school senior who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year.

Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student’s achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant’s choice as described in the Official Rules.

Must be mailed and postmarked no later than January 15th!

DAR Scholarship
  • Applicants must be citizens of the United States.

  • All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance.

Missouri Conservation Agents Scholarship 
  • The applicant will be a Missouri Resident.
  • The applicant will be a U.S. Citizen.The applicant must be pursuing a degree in Biology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, Ecology, Agriculture, Criminal Justice or a field of study closely related to the preceding subjects.
  • The applicant must be a full-time under-graduate student of an accredited college, university, or trade school; or a high school  student entering college.
  • The applicant must have a current and a cumulative minimum grade point average of 2.5 to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • The applicant must submit a transcript along with the application.
  • The applicant must also submit a 500 word essay telling why they would like the scholarship.

 Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/Music Scholarship
Complete the application and one student from NNR-6 will be selected and submitted. Must submit application to Mr. Morrison by Feb 4th 

1. The public high school you attend must be in a district that is a current member of MUSIC, unless a K-8 district nominates you.
2. Only ONE application from each high school is to be submitted.
3. The application form must be postmarked by February 16, 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
4. All applications must be (typed) printed. No handwritten applications will be considered.
5. A copy of your official high school transcript (based on seven semesters) including your ACT or SAT score needs to accompany your application.
6. Your application packet should include a letter of recommendation from a district administrator, counselor or teacher (submit only one (1) letter)

Missouri Corn Scholarship
  1. Applicant must be a high school senior and must have been a full-time student the previous year.
  2. Applicant must be a Missouri resident from a Missouri farm or rural area.
  3. Applicant must plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university with area of study in the field of agriculture.
  4. Applications must be submitted no later than Feb. 14, 2025. 
  5. Application must include an official high school transcript for proof of grade point average and enrollment.
  6. Application must include at least one letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative.​Recipient must:
    • Provide Missouri Corn with a proof of enrollment and participation in the study of agronomy or related field from a college or university dated after Sept. 1, 2025 and received no later than Sept. 30, 2025 or risk forfeit of scholarship. 
    • Assist at one of the following Missouri Corn events: golf tournaments, clay shoots, fairs, conferences or other approved event.
    • Once requirements are met, the scholarship will be sent directly to the recipient on or before Oct. 15, 2025. In the event any portion of the funding is not used by the recipient, the unused portion shall be returned to Missouri Corn.

  7. Immediate relatives of any Missouri Corn Growers Association/Missouri Corn Merchandising Council board or staff member are ineligible to receive a scholarship.

MFA Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships are offered to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren (including step-children or step-grandchildren) of a member of MFA Agri Services Centers, MFA Oil Company Bulk Plants, or qualified customers of other MFA agencies. Applicants must be a resident of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas or Oklahoma.

Hopkins & Pickering Lions Club's Scholarship
This scholarship is for students from the North Nodaway R-VI School District. Students with interests in both technical and vocational education, as well as college education, are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants will be evaluated mostly on the basis of financial need and on the applicant's potential for career success, rather than on prior grade averages. GPA must be 3.00 or higher during 6 of the last 8 quarters.

 *Application may also be submitted by a prior graduate who has been awarded this scholarship. The applicant must demonstrate financial need. This applicant will be considered if no graduating senior is accepted for the scholarship.

 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholar/Essay Application​

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship
  • Applicants must be high school seniors who have exhibited academic achievement and/or economic need.
  • Students should be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a major in a field related to banking.
  • Applications must be submitted on the scholarship form or a photocopy of the form. Attachments must include an official transcript with ACT scores, two letters of recommendation and a resume of extracurricular activities.
  • The application form must be signed by an officer of a Missouri Bankers Association member bank.

North Nodaway Education Foundation Scholarships
  • The North Nodaway Alumni Scholarship awards are funded with the investment returns from the North Nodaway Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund.
  • The Education Foundation Board will determine annually the number of and the dollar amount of the scholarships to be awarded from each of the funds dependent upon the annual investment returns from the each of the various endowment funds. Each academic year's recipients will be selected from all eligible applicants graduating or who have graduated from the North Nodaway R-VI High School"', Hopkins, Missouri.
