University Scholarships

These scholarships are in addition to the automatic scholarships that colleges will provide to students. All of these require applications and many require more items. Please read all qualifications via the websites carefully.

North Central Missouri College	The PRIORITY DEADLINE for the NCMC Foundation Scholarship Application is April 1st at 4:30pm. Any applications submitted after 4:30pm on April 1st and prior to the first day of the fall semester may be considered for round 2 scholarship selections. *Additional scholarships rounds are not guaranteed and subject to availability. After the deadline date closes, completed applications, along with necessary academic and demographic information, will be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee for review. NCMC Foundation scholarship recipients are notified via their Pirate email account with the exception of high school recipients who will be notified by high school counselors/officials. University of Missouri (MIZZOU)	Competitive Scholarships Competitive award details listed below apply to first-time college freshmen entering Fall 2024. These awards are available to students enrolling at Mizzou the first semester after high school graduation. They are renewable provided certain criteria are met. Renewal criteria are available on the Student Financial Aid website. Unless otherwise noted, none of these scholarships may be combined with any other awards. General & Departmental Scholarships You aren’t automatically considered for every scholarship at Mizzou. State Tech	The Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri manages over 50 scholarships sponsored exclusively for students attending State Tech. To apply for any of the Foundation Scholarships, all students must have applied with State Tech. John T. MOSAIC- NEW Health Care Workforce Development Scholarship	~Reside within Mosaic's 35-county service region: northwest Missouri and surrounding counties in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. ~Accepted and enrolled full-time in a post-secondary education program (technical school, career center, community college or university) pursuing a health care study area. ~Maintain a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale. ~Provide two current letters of recommendation. NCWIT- Award for Aspiration in Computing Scholarships	​Women, genderqueer, and non-binary students in grades 9 through 12 are welcome to apply. Point Foundation Scholarships	​Must be enrolled or intending to enroll at an accredited college or university based in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, in the fall of 2025.  Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community. Missouri JCI Senate Scholarship	Seniors graduating from high schools in Missouri Planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, or vocational school in any state Applicants must submit information on leadership positions and offices in school, church, volunteer, and community activities; memberships and participation in school, church, volunteer, and community activities; honors and awards received during high school; employment experience; and family financial situation. They must also submit an essay of 300 to 500 words on their chosen field of college study, their reasons for that choice, and how this scholarship will impact their future. National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship	EligibilityCompetition open to all high school senior who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year. Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student’s achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant’s choice as described in the Official Rules. DAR Scholarship	Applicants must be citizens of the United States. Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance. Awards are based on academic excellence, commitment to the field of study, and/or financial need, or other restrictions on specific scholarships. Awards are placed on deposit with the recipient’s college or university and any unused portion shall be returned to the DAR. Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarship	Be a graduating high school senior. Be a United States citizen. James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program	Be Missouri residents. Be graduating seniors at Missouri high schools who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study for the entire upcoming academic year at an accredited four-year college or university*. OR Be students who have completed one or two full years at a Missouri community college with sufficient credits to transfer to an accredited four-year college or university at the sophomore or junior level, respectively. Demonstrate limited financial resources with a family adjusted gross income of $60,000 or less and an expected family contribution toward college of $7,000 or less. Missouri Conservation Agents Scholarship	The applicant will be a Missouri Resident. The applicant will be a U.S. Citizen.The applicant must be pursuing a degree in Biology, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, Ecology, Agriculture, Criminal Justice or a field of study closely related to the preceding subjects. The applicant must be a full-time under-graduate student of an accredited college, university, or trade school; or a high school  student entering college. The applicant must have a current and a cumulative minimum grade point average of 2.5 to be eligible for the scholarship. The applicant must submit a transcript along with the application. Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/Music Scholarship	Complete the application and one student from NNR-6 will be selected and submitted. Must submit application to Mr. Morrison by Feb 4th  1. The public high school you attend must be in a district that is a current member of MUSIC, unless a K-8 district nominates you. 2. Only ONE application from each high school is to be submitted. 3. The application form must be postmarked by February 16, 2024. Late applications will not be considered. 4. All applications must be (typed) printed. No handwritten applications will be considered. 5. A copy of your official high school transcript (based on seven semesters) including your ACT or SAT score needs to accompany your application. 6. Missouri Corn Scholarship	Applicant must be a high school senior and must have been a full-time student the previous year. Applicant must be a Missouri resident from a Missouri farm or rural area. Applicant must plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university with area of study in the field of agriculture. Applications must be submitted no later than Feb. 14, 2025.  Application must include an official high school transcript for proof of grade point average and enrollment. Application must include at least one letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative.​Recipient must: Provide Missouri Corn with a proof of enrollment and participation in the study of agronomy or related field from a college or university dated after Sept. 1, 2025 and received no later than Sept. 30, 2025 or risk forfeit of scholarship.  Assist at one of the following Missouri Corn events: golf tournaments, clay shoots, fairs, conferences or other approved event. Once requirements are met, the scholarship will be sent directly to the recipient on or before Oct. 15, 2025. In the event any portion of the funding is not used by the recipient, the unused portion shall be returned to Missouri Corn. MFA Foundation Scholarships	These scholarships are offered to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren (including step-children or step-grandchildren) of a member of MFA Agri Services Centers, MFA Oil Company Bulk Plants, or qualified customers of other MFA agencies. Applicants must be a resident of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas or Oklahoma.	Feb. 15	Apply Here
Hopkins & Pickering Lions Club's Scholarship	This scholarship is for students from the North Nodaway R-VI School District. Students with interests in both technical and vocational education, as well as college education, are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants will be evaluated mostly on the basis of financial need and on the applicant's potential for career success, rather than on prior grade averages. GPA must be 3.00 or higher during 6 of the last 8 quarters.  *Application may also be submitted by a prior graduate who has been awarded this scholarship. Cody Lee Stienes Memorial Scholarship	The application MUST be returned to the selection committee fully completed with no missing information. The application MUST be returned by the application deadline. One personal reference/ letter of recommendation from a person NOT related to applicant is requested. Previous employers, teachers and character references are preferred. All awards will be at the sole decision of the board members of the scholarship fund and one at large award selection member as the board determines. Recipients will be notified in writing and agree to abide by the requirements of the scholarship. Recipient must show enrollment in trade/tech school at time of scholarship award. Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship- American Legion Axillary	Candidates for this award shall be direct descendants of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion. Membership in The American Legion Family is not required for this scholarship. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school. This is a scholarship to attend an accredited institution of higher education. Applicants must complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the community during their high school years. Mollie J. and Nelson G. Allen Scholarship	Completed Through Scholar Link Scholarship #1 ​​The students eligible shall be graduating seniors of a high school within the 18-county region of The Community Foundation intending to pursue a degree in education (elementary or secondary) through a two or four-year college and/or university.  Student must be in the top 50% of their class but not in the top 10%, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and an ACT score of 19 or higher. Consideration will be given to financial need and high school attendance record for Junior and Senior years.​ Scholarship #2 The students eligible shall be graduating seniors of a high school within the 18-county region of The Community Foundation intending to pursue a certificate/degree through an accredited two-year college or Vocational/Technical School. Forty and Eight Scholarship	Completed Through Scholar Link ​The students eligible for assistance shall be individuals intending to continue their education through a four-year college/university to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing  Must be living in the counties of Atchison, Nodaway or Holt in Missouri.  Consideration will be given to financial need.  Tier 2: If there are no qualifying individuals, scholarships will be given to individuals obtaining a certificate/degree in a medical field. Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship	Applicants must be high school seniors who have exhibited academic achievement and/or economic need. Students should be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a major in a field related to banking. Applications must be submitted on the scholarship form or a photocopy of the form. Attachments must include an official transcript with ACT scores, two letters of recommendation and a resume of extracurricular activities. The application form must be signed by an officer of a Missouri Bankers Association member bank. The scholarship selection committee is the final and binding judge of scholarship recipients. Joshua Bix Memorial Scholarship	Applicants must be high school graduates from the North Nodaway R-VI High School, Hopkins, Missouri and attending a two or four-year school full-time. Applicants must have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or the equivalent. A completed application includes: a personal letter of introduction to the Scholarship Committee to include an outline of their leadership qualities, both in the school and community; a list of school and community activities. Vocational Scholarship Program ​Missouri Farm Bureau	Must be involved in agricultural majors but includes but is not limited to: 1) Heavy Equipment Operations; 2) Electronics; 3) Welding; and 4) Diesel and Farm Machinery Repair.  All applicants or their parents or guardians must hold an active Missouri Farm Bureau membership, must be enrolled as a full-time student, must be enrolled for the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded, and must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade related to agriculture as listed above. ​1) a letter of recommendation from a school official (teacher, counselor, or administrator); 2) a letter of personal reference; 3) a letter of recommendation from an employer or work supervisor (if applicable); 4) and a copy of the high school transcript. American Legion Legacy Scholarship	Children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001. North Nodaway Education Foundation Scholarships	The North Nodaway Alumni Scholarship awards are funded with the investment returns from the North Nodaway Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Education Foundation Board will determine annually the number of and the dollar amount of the scholarships to be awarded from each of the funds dependent upon the annual investment returns from the each of the various endowment funds. Each academic year's recipients will be selected from all eligible applicants graduating or who have graduated from the North Nodaway R-VI High School"', Hopkins, Missouri. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate good character and commitment toward further education or training in their desired field of study. Northwest Missouri Docudrama Scholarship	Entering into the fields of: Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Fire and Disasterb Management or related field. Graduating seniors who reside in NWMO or SWIA and are students of participating area schools in the annual Docudrama held in Maryville.  Consideration will be given to the students’ community service records.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college ortechnical school.
